They claim there's a river down there...

Mom & I are driving the CR-V from Thousand Oaks to Los Alamos. Today we stopped at the Grand Canyon & hiked down about 1.5 miles into the canyon. It was so beautiful! Apparently this is the first time that I have been there that it wasn't snowing, which was pretty nice, though it was pretty HOT.

We never got a chance to see the Colorado River, which supposedly runs through the Grand Canyon (haha). The one overlook that we stopped to check out, our bus driver told us would have a view of the river, but he was a big, fat liar! Oh well...

We have one more day on the road from Flagstaff to Los Alamos & then I'll be home for a week before I go on my crazy exciting trip! :)
