Now that I have been back in the States for almost a month, I thought that I should share some of my thoughts...
In Austria, everything is closed on Sundays, something I thought was weird, unt

il I got back to school and remembered that Cal Lu is also closed on Sundays. And Saturdays for that matter... One thing I really miss is the amazing bike path system-- America is not a bike friendly place. I also miss not having to watch commercials during shows. Here the commercials are about as long as the segments of the freaking show. How annoying.
Probably the weirdest thing is when people speak English to me. The first place that I really went besides home was to Target... and when I was standing in line, somebody said something to me and I was shocked because I actually understood exactly what they said when they said it to me. I didn't have to stand there for 5 min. trying to figure out what they said. Wow.
One thing that I like is knowing what I'm buying at the grocery store. There are brand name items that I recognize and I know I will like. And I really wish I could ride my bike everywhere. However, stuff is a lot more expensive here in the States than it is in Austria. :/
On a completely different note, swimming is killing me slowly. Not because I've

been sore and tired for the past 2 1/2 weeks, but because I'm still ineligible. My grades are (as Tom says) on a slow boat from Austria. Which explains a lot because Austria doesn't have any sea-access. (haha) But today was probably the most frustrating because we hosted a fun relay meet. So not only did I not get to participate, but we also got 4th... with 32 points separating us from 1st place. And if I had been able to swim, we would have been able to have one more relay... and probably score at least 1 if not 3 places higher... which is very frustrating...
